About SAGE and her Founders:
The idea for SAGE was born out of a need that Ellen Hockley and Meg Davis both felt deeply in the spring of 2024. Both women were (and still are) entrepreneurs and small business owners, as their young children grew and the world began to feel more normal, post-pandemic, both women were craving a sense of community.
The pair often worked together and “co-worked”, but also spent a lot of time chatting. One of those chats led to the very first SAGE meeting in Ellen’s living room. With 6 women in attendance, it was abundantly clear to Ellen & Meg that more women and solopreneurs were looking for a safe place to build their businesses and our community was born.
After nearly 18 months, we renamed our Small Business Meet-up, to SAGE, signifying both a shift in the size and shape of our community, but also the desire to serve and support more members with additional programming and offerings.
About Meg
Meg Davis is e community leader, entrepreneur and deeply caring human. She founded Explorable Places in 2015, after many years of teaching. She saw a huge gap in the market for facilities that host field trips, such as museums, libraries, waste treatment plants etc, to connect with schools and community organizations that plan these field trips. She built a software that takes the chaos and confusion out of the planning and connects these organizations together to provide better opportunities for children.
Explorable Places is an online platform that helps teachers find and schedule engaging field based and virtual learning opportunities that relate to what they are teaching in the classroom.
